
Fergal Smith
Organic farmer and educator, Moy Hill
Fergal grew up working on commercial vegetable gardens and travelled the world as a professional surfer before returning to the West of Ireland to start a regenerative farming journey at Moy Hill.
He established Moy Hill Farm in 2013 and has spent the years since facilitating internships and on site trainings in regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, Korean Natural Farming and no dig gardening. He studied under Nicole Masters, Richard Perkins and Allan Savory, completing each of their holistic management programmes, and is an ambassador for Farming for Nature, the non profit hosted by the Burrenbeo Trust.
Fergal is a director and co founder of Talamh Beo, a membership based Irish farming organisation working to improve regional food systems and food sovereignty. He came to study Korean Natural Farming with Chris Trump on Tom Stack's farm in 2023 and has been implementing natural farming practices at Moy Hill since.
