Marie O'Leary

Soil researcher

Marie has always had a strong connection to nature and a deep interest in human ecology. After exploring alternative agricultural practices during her undergraduate degree, she developed a particular interest in the health of soil. The microscopic universe beneath our feet is the foundation for life on earth, yet modern practice and Western mindset undermine its value.

Through her masters in sustainable agri food systems and cooperatives, Marie wrote her dissertation on Korean Natural Farming in Ireland. She first came across KNF in 2024 and completed the week long intensive that summer with Chris Trump on Tom Stack's farm.

For her, this was the missing link in regenerative agriculture. She had learned about natural farming and the importance of soil health, but the path to achieve it was never clear. KNF offers a defined process for building soil health, unlike any other approach she has come across. Marie believes the natural farming approach is the way forward for the future of agriculture.
